AeroExpo 2018

AeroExpo 2018 - Toluca, Mexico

AeroExpo 2018, the 15th International Aviation Trade Show & Convention, is scheduled for April 19th - 21st, 2018.
During the previous AeroExpo Annual Meeting, the new Board of Directors was appointed and the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC), CTA Miguel Peláez Lira, came in as Commissioner. Peláez Lira reiterated his support and participation in AeroExpo 2018, which in response to the request of the majority of attendees, will be held again in Toluca, Estado de México. Toluca is considered the capital of Mexican executive aviation.
It was also reported that the Government of the Estado de México enthusiastically supported the return of AeroExpo and has reserved a new and modern Convention Center for the event. The venue is located directly opposite the International Airport and boasts all of the necessary facilities to guarantee the success of this traditional civil aviation event. The anticipated success of AeroExpo's return is already reflected in the show's excellent sales results. 90% of the available exhibition space was reserved more than three months in advance of the show's start date. In anticipation of this increased demand, plans are being made to further expand the available space.

Security Details

Drug cartel-related violence remains to be one of Mexico's most significant concerns. While drug cartel violence does not usually directly target foreign travelers, collateral risks have increased significantly throughout the country. Heavily armed self-defense groups formed in the states of Michoacan and Guerrero, have clashed with cartels and security forces. General crime is a significant concern for travelers to Mexico. The types of crimes commonly encountered, however, vary widely in different areas of the country. Kidnapping for ransom is a serious concern throughout Mexico. Highway robberies, carjacking and poor infrastructure affect transportation in Mexico as well. Protests have the potential to disrupt transportation, especially in major cities. There is a risk of isolated confrontations between police officers and protesters. Rampant corruption among all levels of government and the business community is a concern for foreign travelers and businesses in Mexico.
